Donna Sorbello

Donna Sorbello has performed in most local/New England professional companies, including Huntington Theatre, Lyric Stage, Commonwealth Shakespeare, Gloucester Stage, North Shore Music Circus, Boston Theatre Marathon, New Rep, and New Century, et al. Her work in NY included the 13th St. Theatre, the Gene Frankel Theatre, Equity Library Theatre, and several tours and stock companies playing roles as varied as Amanda in Private Lives to Amanda in Glass Menagerie. From classical to broad comedy her roles range from the devious Goneril in Shakespeare’s King Lear to the broad comedy of Shear Madness. Examples of her film and TV roles include Invention of Lying, (Ricky Gervais film), The Brotherhood, (TV Series) See Kate Run (Disney TV).  She earned an IRNE Best Actress for her role as Lady in Orpheus Descending. Donna’s training in theatre and writing include degrees  from Emerson College (Theatre) and Boston University (playwriting), and Acting and Directing with Nikos Psacharopoulos at Circle in The Square, NY, where she became his assistant.  She has taught  acting courses and playwriting at BHCC for several years and coaches actors privately for monologue work. SHe has used several accents in her varying roles. She is a proud member of Actors Equity, SAG-AFTRA, and the Dramatist Guild.
